Make a hair bow the way the professionals do! Don’t be scared - mike and sully are funny monsters.
You will need: blue sparkle ribbon (hobby lobby), scrapbook medium weight papers: blue and purple sparkle, flat black and white, scissors, glue, tie wrap and thick ponytail hair band.
Cut a 24” piece of ribbon. This will be the bow. This ribbon is 1.5” wide.
Cut out the largest M out of black. This will be the base. I made my M 1.5” tall. I used a cricut machine. But you can do it by hand. Also cut the pupil out of black.
Cut a M out of white sizing it down to fit in the black M. Also cut an elongated oval for the monster eye.
Cut an athletic M out of blue sparkle to fit in the white M.
Cut assorted purple sparkle circles ranging from 3/8” to 3/4”.
Glue assorted purple dots in a random fashion to blue ribbon piece. Tacky glue is perfect for this task. Let dry 20 minutes.
Glue each layer of the letter M together using black as the base. The sequence: black, white, blue sparkle, white eye oval, black pupil. Tacky glue works great for paper and cardstock projects.
Use this configuration for a perfectly shaped bow.
Tie wrap this configuration together twisting it in the backside of the bow.
Tie wrap the hair band to the bow. Trim off excess of tie wrap.
Glue a piece of blue sparkle ribbon to the center of the bow. This will cover the ugly tie wrap and provide a nice finished look. I used a hot glue gun for this part, but you can use tacky glue and wait for it to dry.
Glue M plaque to center of bow. I used hot glue for this also. But tacky glue would work too. All done. Now get out there and be a monster! Boo!
Cheers! Creative ambition, imagination and loads of coffee are my truth.
