Love books, journals and papyrus in general? Make these perfect sized travel journals. It’s super easy! It is a great crafty project that won’t take hours to finish. ?
Get these small lined notebooks at amazon.com. They measure approximately 3.5x5”. They come in a pack of twelve. You will also need 3 sheets of scrapbook stock, a glue stick and scissors and fine sandpaper (block or nail file works too).
First give the cover a light sanding. This will help the cardstock stick better. Then cut a piece of cardstock to same size as entire cover. Be sure the cardstock can wrap around both front and back covers. Apply glue to top cover. Position the card stock paper to match up with front cover.
Then apply glue to the back side of the notebook. Wrap the remaining cardstock around the booklet. Cut off the excess paper.
After you have cut off the excess cardstock, trim the edges back to the original rounded edge. Voila! You are done. ?
For a nice touch, cut a strip of cardstock not more than an inch wide. Wrap it around the booklet vertically and glue it together. Leave a bit of slack to make it easy to slide on and off. Now you have a decorative means to hold the booklet closed.
I used scrapbook cardstock from the same collection (garden tea) to create a matching set! I love the way they turned out! Check back later for another post on this fall 2019 project because we still need to smash them!
Cheers! Creative ambition, imagination and loads of coffee are my truth.
