I just published this book ‘Magical Notions and Magical Potions ‘ for Magical Fun. I’m excited about making it exclusively mine with a hard cover, scrapbook paper and graffiti.
Here is a photo of some useful tools for turning a soft cover book into a hard cover book. I got this hard cover book at dollar tree. Find a hard cover book that is the same size as the book you are covering.
With a craft knife, carefully remove the inside of a hardcover book. This should be a fairly easy procedure.
Give the glossy soft cover a light sanding with fine sanding block. This will help the glue to adhere.
You will need at least half an inch around all edges. Use large glue stick to glue on scrapbook paper to hardcover. Then use tacky glue for edges.
Glue the soft cover book into the hard cover gluing the front and back covers to the corresponding hardcover. Then glue a fitted piece of matching paper over the softcover. In this case, cream paper was used to match my book.
Create a plaque for the front using stickers, rub ons, letters, etc.
Graffiti the book with stickers, colored pencils, personal thoughts, etc.
Here I glued in a pocket to hold a small old key.
I deliberately sat my coffee cup on this page. Now my book smells like coffee! ; )
I love how my book turned out! It’s so magically fun!
Cheers! Creative ambition, imagination and loads of coffee are my truth.
